Girl Scout Patches are an intricate part
of Girl Scouts. Each patch shows the hard work, determination, and
objectives that Girl Scouts have to overcome in order to reach their common
goal as a team and earn their awards.
Girl Scout Patches come in many shapes from oval to round as well as custom
shapes like hot air balloons, rainbows, hot dogs, and pizza, just to name
a few. Many of the designs are created
as a symbol of an event, of a task that was completed, or a ceremony such
as bridging from one level to another. Most of these designs are given to
large groups and are sometimes given as an individual recognition award
to a single Girl Scout.
Girl Scout Patches are available in many different sizes. The most
common size is 3” and the embroidery percentage is 75-100%. Rarely
will a patch consist of only 50% embroidery. They typically have a standard
back so that the Girl Scouts can stitch them on their vest themselves.
