MILITARY - POLICE - CIVIL SERVICE PATCHES
Military, police, and civil service patches consist
of some of the most intricate designs. Police patches are most commonly
produced in the shape of a shield consisting of the department name,
county and state or county seal. Many times the military patch designs
will also include metallic gold thread in order to make the design really
stand out.
FBI/Fire/Police/Military Patches
Military and civil services patches can consist of many different design
ideas such as the mascot for an active military troop, retired military
groups, POWs and the American flag. Other design ideas for military/police
may include a Naval ship, fighter planes, tanks, or company slogans.
Another popular type is the name patch, an essential part of every uniform.
Army, military and police patches look great embroidered and work well
when ironed onto uniforms.
These are usually produced as a 100% embroidered patch, with an iron-on
or Velcro backing. The police patches are most commonly produced with
a Merrowed edge, while the military patches are produced in many custom
shapes. The sizing for iron-on military and police patches is most commonly
3 ½” in diameter or larger depending on the intricacy of the design.
Insignia military patches for uniforms are meant to be worn proudly,
so take all the time you need to finalize the details of your design.
Consider whether they will be permanently attached to the uniform or
need to be more temporary, in which case you may need Velcro. With the
use of Velcro, soldiers can remove them before their uniforms are laundered,
which will help to extend the life of their patches.
